A sparkling eye is practically synonymous with holiday makeup, but when done in a statement hue, the look feels fresh and festive. Here, makeup artist Kate Synnott used two shades of violet—both imbued with plenty of sparkle—to stand out against complementary pink-and-peach tones on cheeks and lips. Although this is a beautiful look for sophisticated soirées and late-night parties, Synnott says its lack of fussiness makes it worth incorporating into your year-round repertoire."It has a more undone and smudged vibe, so you can wear it anytime." Below, her instructions on how to make it so.
For subtle all-over radiance, Synnott applied Giorgio Armani Beauty Luminous Silk foundation, adding Clé de Peau Correcteur Visage concealer for extra coverage where needed. A healthy-looking, multi-dimensional glow required multiple products—but each step adds its own allure. On the apples of cheeks, Synnott blended in Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff, a cool-hued pink, for a just-came-in-from-the-cold flush of color. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Radiant Bronze Light added warmth while a dusting of Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone adorned cheekbones with a pale gold shimmer.
For this look, Synnott used shades from the Pat McGrath Labs MOTHERSHIP VI: Midnight Sun palette. Skinshow Moonglow, a pearlescent peach provided a base, while Blitz Violet Orchid put a sparkling purple on top. For more intense color, she added Pat McGrath Labs Eyedols eye shadow in Synthetica. On lashes: Pat McGrath Labs FetishEYES Mascara.
Synnott outlined and filled lips with Pat McGrath Labs Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil in Suburbia before brushing on Pat McGrath Labs LuxeTrance Lipstick in Valletta.
